Best Bakeware Sets For Home Bakers – 2023
Why Buy A Bakeware Set?
One of the most important decisions to make is whether you should buy a bakeware set or individual bakeware pieces. If you are just starting to bake, owning one or two basic baking pieces like a cake pan or cookie sheet might be enough.
If you are looking to go crazy and bake everything under the sun, then purchasing a bakeware set is the way to go.
What’s Included In A Bakeware Set
A typical, quality bakeware set includes a pie pan, cookie sheets or sheet pans, round and square cake pans, a muffin pan, and a roasting pan. A 10-piece bakeware set will provide all the pieces you need to bake most desserts. If 10 pieces is a bit too much for your needs, smaller sets containing 4 or 5 pieces are available on the market.
Bakeware Sets Are Cost Effective
If you are on a budget, a small set of 4 or 5 pieces might be your best choice. Sets are generally more cost-effective than buying bakeware individually.
Buying only what you need at the time saves money and space. But if your interest in baking grows, buying individual pieces can get expensive. Sets do have some drawbacks.
There is the possibility that a bakeware set will include pieces you might never use. However, it can be comforting to know you have these pieces just in case.
Best Bakeware Reviews
Included below are some of our favorite bakeware sets, from some of the top kitchenware brands. The reviews are organized by the type of material used in the cookware, including stainless steel, non-stick, silicone, ceramic, and glass. The sets range from two pieces to 10+ and they fit every budget.

Use code FDD25 to get 25% off all stainless steel bakeware at 360 Cookware
All 360 Cookware is made from .110 gauge, T-304 Surgical Grade Stainless Steel. This means it is high quality and will last forever. They claim this is the last cookware you will ever buy. The bakeware is a bit heavy, the result of its high-quality materials.
I feel like a professional baker when using this bakeware! The 5-ply stainless steel construction is key to even cooking, which is more important when baking.
The bakeware set includes 2 round cake pans, a pie pan, one large cookie sheet, and a 9×13 bake pan. We use the baking pan for baking large cakes and brownies. We’ve also used it to make roasted potatoes or roast chicken or other meats. We also find that pie pans can be used for more than just baking pie! This makes it a versatile set.

What Is The Best Bakeware Material
Bakeware comes in a variety of materials, each with its own pros and cons. Here we take a look at a few of the most popular materials used in manufacturing bakeware and baking pan sets.
Stainless Steel Bakeware
Stainless steel is one of the most versatile materials used in bakeware, cookware, and kitchen appliances. Stainless steel is widely used because of its durability and its ability to clean up easily.
However, it’s not always the best conductor of heat. In many cases, a layer of highly conductive aluminum is sandwiched between layers of stainless stain to improve heat distribution. Stainless steel bakeware sets are not cheap, but they can be worth the long-term investment.
Silicone Bakeware
The use of silicone in bakeware has increased in popularity. Silicone is a highly adaptable material, allowing itself to form a number of shapes. Its flexibility allows silicone bakeware to be rolled up and stored after use. This is a big plus if you have limited storage space.
Despite being a lightweight material, silicone won’t scratch, dent, or peel. On the downside, silicone’s lightweight characteristics can make moving transfer baked goods a bit of an adventure, as they tend to be a bit loose and floppy.
Silicone bakeware sets also tend to be on the more expensive side compared to other materials. Some people wonder if you need to use parchment paper with silicone bakeware. The use of parchment paper is a personal preference. We really use parchment paper when cooking. Sometimes I think we should be generally we don’t see the need for parchment paper.
Glass Bakeware
Glass bakeware sets are great introductory sets for new bakers. They are relatively less expensive compared to sets make using other materials. Versatile, glass bakeware works really well in the oven.
A big benefit of glass is that it doesn’t interfere with the flavor of food. On the downside, despite conducting heat very well, glass distributes heat poorly. This can result in unevenly cooked food.
Ceramic Bakeware
Using materials like ceramic, clay, or stone dates back centuries. A natural material, ceramic bakeware contains no harmful chemicals that can escape during cooking. Its surface is naturally non-stick which is ideal for baking and makes cleanup quick and easy.
Ceramic bakeware is also on the lower side when it comes to purchasing a set, which is great if you are just getting started. Unfortunately, even though ceramic bakeware is hardened it can easily be scratched or damaged by utensils. This can affect its non-stick elements.
Much like glass, ceramic bakeware can easily be broken, especially when heated. Its ability to distribute heat evenly isn’t as good as other materials like stainless steel.
Non-Stick Bakeware
Non-stick bakeware has made baking at home much more accessible and fun. In addition to the obvious benefit, of preventing food from sticking, non-stick bakeware requires less butter or oil making dishes more healthy.
Cleaning up is made easier with non-stick bakeware. Although to maintain the integrity of the non-stick surface, it’s best only to hand wash each piece.
Like all bakeware materials, non-stick does have some drawbacks. The material used is highly susceptible to scratching especially from metal utensils. Once damaged, the non-stick surface becomes less effective at preventing food from scratching.

Comparison Of 360 Cookware vs. Calphalon
I’ve always been a big fan of Calphalon cookware. We’ve owned a lot of it over the last 20 years. But, I’ve now fallen in love with our 360 Cookware – we have the bakeware set and a stainless steel cookware set. Both make me feel like a pro baker. Here are some of the pros and cons, though, when comparing 360 Cookware vs. Calphalon.
360 Cookware
- Stainless steel is heavy and more difficult to maneuver
- 360 Cookware is more expensive, but an investment
- Easy to clean, no worries about scratching
Calphalon Bakeware
- Non-stick is lighter weight, easier to move
- Calphalon can be a better value if you don’t plan on owning the cookware for a decade or more
- Concerns about scratching the non-stick coating
Rachael Ray Cucina Nonstick Bakeware Set
Rachael Ray has been one of the top brands of celebrity cookware for years. The Rachael Ray 10-piece nonstick bakeware set is made using heavy-gauge steel construction.
This allows the baking pans in the Rachael Ray set to heat fast and have even heat distribution. The Rachael Ray 10-piece set comes with two 10-inch x 15-inch cookie pans, two 9-inch round cake pans, and a 9-inch square cake pan. Each has nonstick coating to make baking a breeze.
Additional pieces in the Rachael Ray nonstick bakeware set include two loaf pans, a 9-inch x 13-inch rectangular cake pan, and a 12-cup muffin pan. The Rachael Ray set is oven safe up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Each piece has built-in silicone grips for safe handling. Like all bakeware sets, we recommend that you only hand wash after using.
Elbee Home 8 Piece Non Stick
There’s something to be said for a product advertised as Oprah’s favorite bakeware. The best thing I love about this bakeware set is that it all stacks conveniently inside of itself for easy storage! And, it’s made of carbon steel, which I am a big fan of as well. We have several carbon steel frying pans and love them.
The Elbee bakeware set includes a large roasting pan, a square cake tin, two oven trays (one small, one large), two muffin pans, and two round cake tins. The oven trays are perfect cookie sheets or sheet pans
The larger roasting pan can be used for larger items, but also for roasting meats and vegetables, making it even more versatile. We do the same with our roasting pan from 360 Cookware. It’s a rectangular baking pan that we even use for Thanksgiving turkey.
Each piece in the set is made of aluminum-coated carbon steel. This means it has the heat conduction of carbon steel, but won’t rust or need special treatment because of the non-stick aluminum coating.
This makes it rust-resistant (although they don’t claim to be rust-proof, based on reviews). The bakeware is nonstick, dishwasher-safe, and oven safe up to 420 degrees.
Most people love the fact that the bakeware nests inside each other, making it easy to store in small kitchens. The set is a good value for the number of pieces, but there have been some complaints about rusting if the cookware is not dried after use.

Types Of Baking Pans And What To Make In Them
Tasty and deliciously baked cookies and bread require one major thing before the cooking stage. A durable and quality baking pan set. After all, if you want to make the perfect banana bread, you’re going to need the right baking pan.
Strolling through a physical or an online baking section at your favorite kitchen store, you might spot various baking pans and baking trays, and you begin to wonder if there are new pans with new features added daily to the collection.
This can even make it more confusing for you to know which baking ware suits your daily needs. Well, this article will give you a perfect guide to the best baking pan sets suited for you and your daily needs.
8 And 9 Inch Round Cake Pan
This baking pan is for those who bake regularly because it gives the best results. These bake pans can also be used for batch brownies. Round cake pans are available in every size you want, but the 8 and 9 inches are the most common sizes.
The 8- and 9-inch cake pans bake layered cakes quickly. It will be a nice addition to your baking pan set if you have the two sizes.
9 x 13 Inch Rectangular Cake Pan
Cake pans do not only come in round shapes but also in rectangles and squares. Considered as one of the best pans for baking, expert pastry chefs and bakers make use of this aluminum baking pan because it is rust-proof and will never warp.
This cake pan is available from the best bakeware brands and they produce evenly baked goods every time it is being used, and it is very easy to clean.
8 x 8 Square Pan
Square baking pans are handy in making homemade cakes and brownies. Designed with square corners, this versatile baking pan allows you to make cakes with a polished and tidy edge.
The square baking pan is coated with nonstick silicone allowing you to easily remove your baked goods from the pan without sticking to the surface. This baking pan conducts heat efficiently. It’s recommended to handwash these pans. Never put them in the dishwasher.
Muffin Pan
If you are the type that loves muffins and cupcakes, then the muffin tin shouldn’t be missing in your kitchen. This baking pan is typically considered the best bakeware material for preparing muffin bread. This is because it has six to twelve round holders or pockets, where muffin batter is poured and forms into a muffin after baking.
Most tins are in three sizes. They range from pans used to bake miniature muffins 1 to 2 inches in diameter, to standard-sized muffins 2 to 3 inches in diameter. While large muffins are 4 inches in diameter.
Individual muffin cups made from disposable silicone are also available for baking personal muffins and cupcakes. Do not get confused, muffin tin is also referred to as muffin pans.
Loaf Pan
This is another baking pan set needed if you enjoy baking bread to meet your taste. There are two types of the loaf pan. We have the standard loaf pan and the lo-fat loaf pan.
Most baking trays are made from steel, glass, pottery, or stoneware. But the particular loaf pan described in this article is made with aluminum. The rectangular-shaped pan with a deep walled hollow is specifically designed to bake a single loaf of bread. We’ve found that when baking something like banana bread, aluminum prevents sticking better than other materials.
While the lo-fat loaf pan consists of two separate pans, with one fitting above the other. The base baking pan collects the grease drip from the upper pan and away from your baked goods.
The upper pan can be used for making meatloaf, while the lower pan can be used for baking bread. The aluminum makes it rust-free and easy to clean. Do not get confused, bread pans are also known as loaf pans.
FAQs – Best Bakeware Sets
There are a lot of opinions on this and frankly, the best answer is the one you prefer using. If you are baking for a business then a professional bakeware set is the way to go. If you are a home baker, materials like porcelain conduct heat very well and won’t cost an arm and a leg.
Yes. Several bakeware brands offer bakeware sets for kids. Many of these bakeware kits include pre-measured ingredients and decorating tools.
Quality is always the most important. Bakeware sets that are made from thin, flimsy material will not last. You will have to replace them, costing you money. Ceramic bakeware and sturdy stainless steel bakeware provide long-lasting quality baking.
It’s helpful to explore what professional chefs and bakers use in terms of cook and bakeware. That said, since this is their profession, they are willing to spend more for the best on the market. In terms of actual bakeware, most professional bakers use anodized aluminum pans. These pans heat up quickly and evenly distribute heat. This ensures quick and thorough baking.
