Our Top Picks For The Best Large Air Fryer:

Best Large Air Fryer On The Market – 2023

In this case, size does matter. But, not all air fryers are made equal. You don’t want to purchase the largest capacity air fryer you can find. Instead, it’s best to balance the size of an air fryer along with all of the other features to be sure to pick the right one for you and your home.

We generally recommend purchasing an air fryer on Amazon for a couple of reasons. First, they have a wide variety of options in every size and at every price point. Second, we try to recommend products that are part of Amazon Prime, which provides purchasers with free and often super-fast delivery. (Get 30 days of Prime free here.) That said, we’ve also tried to include links directly to the manufacturer when possible. We are aware that not everyone shops on Amazon and want to make purchasing as easy as possible.

We include the best air fryer reviews below, but if you are short on time, use this handy chart to find our recommendations. The chart below is organized by size, from smallest to largest.

What Is An Air Fryer

An air fryer essentially circulates super-hot air to cook food that results in a taste similar to foods that are deep fried. It’s also possible to use an air fryer to roast, bake, and grill dishes making it a versatile kitchen appliance. An air fryer is not a fryer, not the same way as a deep fryer is.

I have to admit, if you are buying an air fryer to make french fries that taste as good as deep-fried french fries, you will probably end up disappointed. Instead, fries taste better than baked, but not as good as fried.

But, aside from cooking fries in an air fryer, we use our air fryer for so many other things, including fried fish and chicken fingers. We also use it to roast vegetables, make beetroot chips, cook cheeseburgers, make grilled cheese, and even reheat pizza better than ever. Did you know you can even bake a cake in an air fryer? We’ve also cooked a whole chicken in it.

We use our large air fryler probably 5 to 6 times a week and love it!

Large Air Fryer Pro Tip

What are some of the best uses for a larger air fryer? You can fry, bake, roast, and grill almost anything. This includes french fries, breaded meat or steak, even hamburgers, pastries, fried snacks, and even small turkeys. Most of the air fryers on this list include recipe books to help you find new ways to use your new air fryer.

Best Large Capacity Air Fryer Reviews

Our air fryer reviews focus on some of the biggest capacity air fryers on the market. This includes some “normal” sized air fryers around the five and six-quart mark as well as larger models.

When we first started to review air fryers, we focused on the brands we used most at home – Ninja and Cosori. But, we found that our readers were thinking bigger, a lot bigger. Over time, we started to include reviews of some of the biggest air fryers on the market, perfect when cooking for families or for parties.

XL Air Fryer Ovens – Biggest Air Fryers

Here I share our recommendations for some of the largest air fryers on the market. These generally fall into the category of air fryer ovens because they have a lot more functionality. They are sort of air fryer and convection oven hybrids.

Also, a note on the use of the term “XL.” When researching products for this post we saw a lot of air fryer “XL” reviews for air fryers that were only four or five quarts. Just be aware of the total quart size when choosing a big air fryer.

For us, anything in the 4-5 quart size is really a medium or average size. Anything over 5.8 or 6 quarts is large and anything over 10 quarts is large enough to garner the extra large air fryer designation. Just be careful when shopping. If you see an “XL” still check the capacity in quarts or liters to determine if it is large enough for what you need.

The GoWISE USA Deluxe 12.7-Quarts X Large Air Fryer Oven is family-sized and one of the biggest air fryers on the market. Even with its capacity, its size is relatively compact, meaning it will fit comfortably on most kitchen countertops.

Inside the air fryer oven are three rack levels to cook multiple items. They are removable to cook larger items as well. There is a built-in rotisserie for chicken, roasts, and kebabs. There is a pack of 10 accessories as well, including tongs, drip pans, skewers, a mesh basket, mesh trays, and more. This type of air fryer doesn’t have a basket like smaller models. Instead, the mesh basket that comes as an accessory is used to make french fries and other foods.

The LCD display includes 15 presets for accurate cooking times and temperatures. You can also adjust the setting while cooking. The removable non-stick drip pan makes clean-up easy. There is a one-year warranty and it comes with a recipe book.

Ninja Foodi Dual Zone Air Fryer – 10 Quart

Check Prices Here

We are big fans of Ninja products because they are often so innovative, and when I saw the Ninja Foodi 6 in 1 Dual Zone 2 Basket Air Fryer, I was sold! Even with a typical large air fryer, you can only cook one thing at a time, so the dual basket air fryer was revolutionary.

The Ninja Foodi Dual Zone Air Fryer has two 5 quart baskets that let you cook two dishes, two different ways, at the same time. You can cook salmon on one side and broccoli on the other, or a cheeseburger on one side and fries on the other. Dual basket air fryer technology at work.

The Ninja Dual Zone also has Smart Finish technology which figures out how to cook two dishes so that they finish simultaneously, a skill I still lack in the kitchen. There are 6 cooking presets, including air fry, air broil, roast, bake, reheat, and dehydrate, making it super versatile too. And, it’s just so different than most air fryers.

What this air fryer model doesn’t do is allow you to cook a big piece of meat at once because each side is slightly smaller than the larger capacity baskets of other air fryer models. But, in the end, that doesn’t bother me. We love our Ninja! This was the third air fryer we bought and we love it!

Nuwave Brio – 15.5 Quarter XL Family Size Air Fryer

Check Price Here

The Ninja 10 Quart may not be the biggest air fryer we have on our list, so we want to offer something that is, truly, one of the largest air fryers we can recommend. Once you get over 12 or 15 quarts, the options start to be more like countertop convection ovens, but the NuWave is a great compromise between these two options.

The NuWave Brio 15.5 Quart Air Fryer looks like a traditional air fryer and doesn’t take up as much counter space as the larger convection ovens. Temperatures can go up to 425F, and can be easily adjusted on the fly.

There are also multiple racks allowing for 4 rack cooking within the air fryer. This pairs with an integrated digital thermometer for precise cooking. And, it’s one of our favorite of the biggest air fryers you can buy.

Cosori XL Dual Zone Air Fryer

The COSORI Smart XL Air Fryer is one size larger than the air fryer we currently use in Ireland. We’ve had the COSORI 5.8 Qt Hot Air Fryer, which is a good sized air fryer with a lot of features at a good price point. But the Cosori XL is a slightly larger air fryer, making it a good option for families.

The Cosori XL Air Fryer includes 14 different functions, including a dehydrate function. It’s even got smart control technology, allowing you to control the cooking process from an app on your smartphone. There’s also voice control, allowing you to use Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. This is a next-gen air fryer for sure.

Functionally, it offers air frying temps between 190-450F. Its non-stick basket is easy to clean and is dishwasher-safe. The Cosori XL air fryer also includes a few air fryer accessories, including a wire rack, crumb tray, broiler rack, crisper plate, and 2 dehydrating racks.

There is no preheating required, which means meals are cooked faster than with other air fryers. The basket and other removable parts are dishwasher safe.

The Philipps also includes a 1-year warranty. The Philips Kitchen+ app includes tasty recipes and cooking tips as well.

Within the air fryer, there are three air flow racks rather than a basket. It also comes with a series of accessories like 10 stainless steel skewers, a rotating mesh basket for fries, a rotisserie spit, a drip tray, and three recipe books. Because this air fryer can actually dehydrate as well as cook, one of the recipe books is specifically for dehydrating fruits and vegetables.

The Dash 6 Quart Electric Big Air Fryer mixes form and function with a very retro look. It comes in a cool aqua color as well as black, white, and red air fryer options. The Dash is one of the top rated air fryers on Amazon and a good option if you’re trying to avoid a more expensive air fryer.

The Dash is a six-quart capacity, which means it has plenty of space to cook for a family of four to six. It can even roast a chicken inside. There are manual rather than digital controls but there is an auto-off function to prevent overcooking. The temperature knob is on the top and the timer is on the front. The temperature ranges from 175 to 400 degrees and it is 1700 watts making it pretty powerful.

The basket is dishwasher safe and has a cool touch handle. The entire air fryer includes cool touch housing making it so much safer than a deep fryer.

This Chefman 6.8 Quart Electric Air Fryer is one of the larger models from the Chefman brand. Chefman is one of the air fryer brands that offer a pretty good value for all of their models.

Most Chefman models include a flat basket design, which is why they are able to cook a higher capacity of food. The detachable basket has a cool touch on the outside. The basket is also dishwasher safe. They do warn not to soak the basket to prevent rust or to scrub it with abrasives.

It includes an adjustable temperature range between 175 and 400 degrees. With manual controls for temperature and time up to 60 minutes, it doesn’t offer pre-sets or more accurate settings. But, it is still a good value for the price. There is an auto-shut-off function. There is a one-year warranty.

What Can You Cook In A Big Air Fryer

We fell in love with this type of cooking. When we travel and don’t have a big air fryer in our airbnb, we miss it. Sometimes we forgot how we ever cooked before.

But, there are a lot of tasty foods you can cook in large air fryers. This blog has round ups of loads of tasty, and easy-to-cook air fryer recipes. Some of the most basic recipes are for typical dishes you would otherwise fry, like chicken or fish. But, there are also loads of healthy air fryer recipes, focusing on a lot of vegetables. But, you can also cook burgers in an air fryer, or even hot dogs (we do cheese dogs on the bun!).

You might not think you can cook Indian air fryer recipes, but you can. The list includes loads of tasty starters and appetizers as well as main courses. And, you can start the day with air fried breakfast recipes, or even bake a cake in an air fryer. It’s all possible.

Deep Fryer vs. Air Fryer vs. Convection Oven

A deep fryer uses hot oil, often inches of it. The hot oil fries the food, making it crispy, but also is not the most healthy way to cook. Air fryers, though, use a fan to circulate really hot air. It works in a similar way to a convection oven but takes up a smaller footprint on your kitchen countertop. It also means there are a lot of options for healthy air fryer recipes.

In a convection oven, the hot air moves slowly around the food. In an air fryer, the hot air moves a lot more quickly, which is a more efficient way of cooking. The hot air evenly cooks the food, keeping it tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. It’s a much healthier option than deep-frying food.

To be honest, the food that comes out of an air fryer doesn’t taste exactly the same as deep-fried food. But it is a happy medium for people who like crispy food but who are also trying to reduce their intake of the oil that comes with tasty deep-fried food.

Air fryers are also good alternatives to baking food in an oven. It is quicker and in the summer it doesn’t heat up the entire kitchen. Although it is best to preheat an air fryer before using it, it doesn’t take as long as an oven.

What Are The Different Air Fryer Sizes

It’s important to understand air fryer capacity, or size. Which one is right for you will depend on the size of your household and to some extent the amount of space in your kitchen. Capacity refers to the amount of space available inside for cooking. As for size, when purchasing a larger appliance like this, before sure to measure the space available on your countertop, including height, to make sure it fits.

Some air fryers are labeled in liters and others in quarts. Small air fryers can be one to three liters, medium ones about three to five liters, and large and XL models are normally six liters and up. Some of them are large enough to cook more than one type of food at a time. This is possible because the air fryer pan has a wall in the middle to separate the foods.

What Is The Largest Air Fryer Size On The Market

The air fryers that are the largest are considered “air fryer ovens.” This is an air fryer machine that is larger and shaped more like a toaster oven or convection oven. It combines oven functions along with the quicker cooking functionality of an air fryer.

These extra large air fryers can have a capacity of 10, 12, or even 16 quarts. They can include two or three racks as well as features for rotisserie, kebab skewers, pizza stones, and more. The goal here is to cook tender meat, that is crispy on the outside, for a large family. It also works well for entertaining.

Air Fryer Benefits

By looking at the benefits of an air fryer you can determine if an air fryer is right for you. An air fryer is good for cooking food and snacks in an oil less deep fryer. This means you are using little to no oil, rather than the cups of oil required for a deep fryer.

It allows you to cook for couples or small households, or with larger air fryers, for a big family. If you are looking to cook food efficiently and healthily, this is a great option. It also is a good option for kitchens without ovens or without large ovens. Foods can be baked and roasted in the air fryer as well. It’s also a relatively easy way to cook with quick clean-up.

Who Needs A Big Air Fryer

If you have a large family or if you want to cook an entire meal at one time, a larger air fryer might be a good fit. Even if you only plan on cooking fried snacks in the fryer, a larger fry pan will prevent you from having to do multiple rounds in order to get everything cooked. You also might want to cook larger items, like whole chickens or even small turkeys (yes, that’s possible!).

Also, think about the future. If you plan on entertaining more in the future or plan to have a larger family, a bigger air fryer might be a good investment. An investment is what it is. You don’t want to purchase a smaller air fryer, realize it’s too small, and end up replacing it shortly after.

What To Look For In The Best Air Fryer To Buy

It’s impossible for us to recommend the absolute best large air fryer on the market. The choice really comes down to your needs and requirements to determine which is the best one for you. In addition to our reviews below, here are some of the features many of these models have. These are some of the factors to consider before choosing the best air fryer for you.

Manual vs. Digital Controls

Air fryers normally have either manual (analog) or digital controls. Manual controls involve buttons and knobs. Digital controls include LCD style controls. Many of the larger air fryers tend to have more digital controls whereas smaller, more simple models, might include more manual controls.

This is a point of preference for the user. Some people like the more contemporary look of the LCD screen. These screens can also be easier to clean because you don’t need to clean around the knobs. The digital controls allow for more accuracy as well. That said, a manual control can be a lot easier to get used to and figure out. It’s sometimes more intuitive.

Temperature Range

All air fryers will include the ability to adjust the temperature based on what you are cooking. Normally, the temperature will range from 175 degrees to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, although lower and higher is possible. Often lower temperatures will be used to dehydrate fruits and vegetables. This is a pretty cool feature that you wouldn’t normally find in smaller air fryers. If you find a recipe that requires a higher temperature, just set the time to cook a little longer and you will be fine.

Programmer And Timers

Many of the biggest capacity air fryers come with various settings to help you cook food efficiently. This can include programmed presets. This allows you to press a button for a type of food and the machine does the rest.

Many of these air fryers have timers. Often the timer is for only 30 minutes whereas others will include timers up to 60 minutes. Thirty minutes can be enough because many air fryers cook quickly and efficiently. In larger models, I recommend 60 minutes to ensure you have enough time to cook everything you want.

Rotating And Shaking Functions

Pro cooks recommend shaking the air fryer pan a few times during cooking to improve flavor. Some higher-end models will do this for you. They have an automatic rotator function to move the food around. This means you don’t need to manually shake the air fryer basket. If it doesn’t move the food for you, there might be an alarm to remind you to shake the basket once or twice during cooking time.

Cleaning And Maintenance

As much as air fryers are easier to clean and maintain than deep fryers, they do still need to be cleaned. Look for non-stick air fryer baskets that make cleaning easy. Also, ensure the basket and air fryer pan are removable. Even better, look for ones that are dishwasher safe. Sometimes with a larger capacity air fryer, it is better to hand clean because the baskets can take up a lot of space in the dishwasher.

Additional Features

Some of the larger capacity air fryers include additional features you don’t find in smaller or cheaper versions. This includes coming with a rotisserie function or accessories that help you make pizza, like pizza stones. There might be a pause cooking button, preheating function, or a keep warm mode.
