Where To Stay In Limerick
We begin though with a little introduction explaining why we love Limerick so much. Firstly, it is a gateway to the 1600-mile Wild Atlantic Way, which winds along Ireland’s west coast. Connecting an array of historic towns and stunning natural landscapes, it’s one of the country’s foremost treasures.
Then there are the attractions within Limerick City. These include King John’s Castle, dating back to 1200. Other sites that shouldn’t be missed include the Hunt Museum and Limerick City Art Gallery. They contain many of the country’s most important artworks.
And for sports fans, the newly opened International Rugby Experience and Thomond Park are worth checking out. Stay in Limerick City hotels and you’ll be just a short stroll from these attractions.
Should you prefer Limerick accommodations that are a little more rural, that’s not a problem. The rolling countryside begins to take over only 10 minutes out of Limerick town. It then extends for miles through both County Limerick and neighboring County Clare.
Last but not least, we love Limerick’s location in Ireland. Hotels in Limerick City are pleasingly close to Shannon International Airport. It should take you no more than 30 minutes to travel between the two by road.
It is also only around two hours of traveling time to Dublin, Cork, and Waterford. If there’s a better base for discovering all Ireland has to offer the visitor, we haven’t found it!
Top Hotels In Limerick
Picking a hotel is never fun, believe me. Thankfully, we’ve done the hard part and researched what are the best hotels in Limerick. Our picks incorporate different styles and budgets to help make the selection process that much easier.
No 1 Pery Square Hotel & Spa
If you’re after a hotel right at the heart of Limerick town we can’t recommend No 1 Pery Square enough. It is located on the same road as Limerick City Art Gallery and People’s Park. Its 4-star rating cements it as a solid choice whatever the season.
Pass beyond the Georgian red brick exterior and you’ll discover stunning interiors. Blending Georgian-era style with modern motifs, the rooms are really comfortable. They look out onto either Pery Square or the hotel garden.
Head to the vaulted ceilings of the basement for certified organic onsite spa treatments. Irish seaweed and peat baths are among the more unusual treatments available, alongside a thermal spa area and Irish mist shower.
But dining hasn’t been overlooked either. Sash Restaurant serves modern takes on classic Irish dishes. Using locally sourced high-quality Irish ingredients, the food at Sash showcases Irish cuisine at its finest.

The Savoy Hotel Limerick
The 5-star Savoy is another central pick of the best hotels in Limerick. The hotel is just a block away from Harvey’s Quay Boardwalk on the River Shannon. If you are looking to explore the many pubs in Limerick a stay here will put you right at the heart of the action both day and night.
Its modern rooms manage to be both chic and practical. They are particularly well-suited to a romantic getaway, although families are also welcome.
A plunge pool, spa bath, and range of treatments await at the Savoy Aqua and Fitness Club.
But if fine food is more your cup of tea, the Savoy also has some great choices. You may want to linger in the bar for a cocktail made with Irish gin or opt for a light lunch in the Liszt Lounge.
The Hamptons Restaurant is a New York-style grill house. More formal evening dining can be enjoyed at the Market Square restaurant.

Its riverfront position is worthy of the 4-star rating alone, without even mentioning the hotel’s crop of facilities.
These include leisure amenities featuring a 20-meter indoor swimming pool, two hot tubs, and a steam room. There’s also the independently-owned Namaste Day Spa onsite, offering guests discounted treatments.
Rooms are large and modern, with some offering breathtaking views of Limerick City. While it may be tempting to indulge in the rooms, you shouldn’t miss the cuisine of The River Bar and Restaurant.
With “riverfront” dining, the River Bar & Restaurant serves up award-winning traditional Irish cuisine. If you are looking to sample a local Irish whiskey or Irish craft beer, look no further than the River Bar.

Absolute Hotel Limerick
With nothing to do with the vodka brand (we don’t think), Absolute Hotel brings a cool contemporary look to the King’s Island district. This puts sights including the medieval walls of King John’s Castle and The Hunt Museum’s paintings within easy reach.
Beyond its good location, this 4-star hotel boasts an urban elegance. It is perhaps best demonstrated through the clever use of bare brick walls and double-height feature windows. The hotel provides a tranquil base to return to after a day’s sightseeing.
We can think of worse places to end up than the outdoor terrace of Harry’s on the River! A café, bar, and restaurant all rolled into one, it prides itself on the use of local seasonal produce.
As with all the other accommodations in Limerick we’ve highlighted, there is also an indulgent spa. Vanilla Browns has over 20 years of experience in making people feel their absolute best.

For a more relaxed alternative, you only have to turn to the Grill Bar & Restaurant. Enjoying a traditional pint of Guinness here after a long day of sightseeing is the perfect way to end the day.
Leisure facilities include a 10-meter indoor pool, steam room, and sauna, contributing to the hotel’s overall 4-star rating.
